Founded the ANANYA Trust with four other friends on March 6, 1998. The trust runs a school for first generation learners; and provides training to teachers and individuals interested in working with such children.
Helped set up the Shishu Mandir School and later took over as the coordinator of the Shishu Mandir Home. My responsibilities in the school were to select and train teachers, design curriculum, and look after the administration of the school. Was also training teachers from other NGOs working with street and working children.
Worked as Associate Programme Director (APD) of Mahila Samakhya Karnataka – a Government of India pilot project to promote education and empowerment of rural women of Karnataka. My responsibilities included setting up Mahila Shikshana Kendras in five districts of Karnataka as and when needed. I planned and implemented academic programmes and trained personnel at various grassroots levels according to the needs and demands of the women’s collectives (sanghas). Worked together with the health and economic development consultants to empower rural the women.
